Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Velorific, a nutrition and training tracker delivered as a web app at velorific.com and as a native iOS app. Velorific is a small independent project, so this page is written in plain English. Using the service means you accept these terms.
1. Who we are
Velorific is operated as a sole-trader project based in the United Kingdom. For anything covered by these terms, contact adam@velorific.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Velorific. The service is not designed for use by children. If you are accessing Velorific on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organisation.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your passcode private. The passcode is the only access control on your account.
- Do not share accounts. Each user should have their own account so that data, targets, and integrations stay separated.
- Tell us as soon as possible at adam@velorific.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Access the service by any means other than the official web app or iOS app (no scraping, automation, or reverse-engineering the API).
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malicious code.
- Attempt to breach the service's security, bypass authentication, or access data belonging to other users.
- Use the service to operate a commercial product or resell access without prior written consent.
5. Health, nutrition, and training disclaimer
Velorific is an informational tool. It calculates calorie and macronutrient targets from inputs you provide (weight, training load, goals) using published formulas. It is not medical, dietetic, or coaching advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Calorie targets, deficit recommendations, carbohydrate guidance, and any training-related display values are estimates based on assumptions documented in the "How Velorific works" screen. Individual physiology varies. If you have a medical condition, eating disorder history, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are unsure whether a given calorie target is safe for you, consult a qualified professional before relying on the app's output.
You use Velorific at your own risk.
6. Third-party integrations
Velorific connects to third-party services you choose to enable. Each has its own terms and privacy policy, and those agreements apply between you and the provider:
- Strava — workout import via OAuth and webhook. Velorific displays Strava-sourced data under Strava's brand guidelines ("Powered by Strava", "View on Strava" links).
- TrainingPeaks — planned-session import via your personal iCal URL.
- Anthropic — AI meal estimation. When you use the "AI estimate" feature, the meal description you type is sent to Anthropic's API to produce an estimate.
We cannot guarantee the availability, accuracy, or continued operation of these integrations. If a provider changes or withdraws its API, the corresponding feature in Velorific may change or stop working.
7. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the data you enter into Velorific (meals, weights, notes, targets). By submitting it you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it back to you so the app can work. We do not claim rights to your data beyond what is needed to run the service.
8. Availability and changes
Velorific is a personal project and is provided on a best-effort basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We will give reasonable advance notice before permanently shutting down the service and will provide a way to export your data before that happens.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to harm other users, or that creates legal or security risk for the service.
You can close your account at any time by emailing adam@velorific.com. Data retention on deletion is covered in the privacy notice.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Velorific is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under UK law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Velorific, its operator, and any contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or, if you have paid nothing, £0.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velorific from any claim brought by a third party arising from your breach of these terms, your violation of applicable law, or your infringement of someone else's rights through your use of the service.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practical, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Velorific after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, subject to any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
